Me and my husband met just a few days before Valentine’s day so we celebrate our anniversary instead but each year we like to do something special and this year I decided to try and choose the most romantic desserts in Paris to share with you.
L’éclair de génie
You can try any eclair from this pastry shop and I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed, but the salted caramel one is my favorite! It’s no wonder that I picked it in my chase to find the perfect Valentine’s day dessert.
The LOVE eclair comes with an extra layer of intense salted caramel, which makes it even more seducing. For this special day you can also choose to personalize the eclairs with the name of your loved one.
Pierre Hermé
Ah, the Picasso of Pastry, how could I not have included one of his desserts? His macarons hold a special place in my heart as they’re the first ones I’ve ever tried. Sitting on a bench in Paris and biting into these little pieces of heaven made me fall in love with pastry!
I went for Ispahan because it’s one of my favorite flavor combinations and it’s also the perfect dessert to enjoy with a glass of champagne – or more, I won’t tell! The raspberry, rose and litchi merge together in perfect balance, plus it looks so delicate!
Angelina
Angelina is really well known for their hot chocolate and I can assure you that it is one of the best I have ever tried.
This elegant dessert is part of their new collection and it looks almost too good to eat! Made of fluffy meringue, raspberry compote and a white chocolate and vanilla mousse, this is the perfect ending to a romantic dinner.
Dalloyau
When I saw this dessert in my pastry magazine it was obvious that I had to include it in my list. In creating this stunning desert made for two, the pastry chef was inspired from the camellia flower, which symbolizes unconditional and eternal love. How romantic!
Beneath the chocolate stencil, this dessert hides a milk chocolate mousse, a ginger and vanilla cream, an exotic passion fruit and pineapple compote and a vanilla biscuit.
Fauchon
Fauchon is a pastry shop with such a long history and tradition and their desserts are always impressive, with a modern touch and such pretty designs.
This Valentine’s day special is no exception – shaped like lips, it’s the perfect cheeky dessert to share with your cherie. It has a base of caramelized almonds, hiding a raspberry soft interior that’s covered in vanilla and their signature tea ganache with citrus hints.
I hope you enjoyed the little journey through these sweet jewels. What did you think about them? Are you curious to try any of them for yourself, or do you have other favorite desserts that you’ll be enjoying around Valentine’s?
